It not often that I do these types of posts, but our 2019 was absolutely insane. We were blessed with so many amazing couples, got to visit some incredible new venues, visited two new countries(even if it was just Swaziland and Mauritius) and most importantly got to be a part of many amazing memories with legendary people.
Enjoy some of our favourite moments of last year. A very difficult process to break it down to just these, which is why we had to split it on two just to squeeze in as many as we can.
Thank you so all the amazing suppliers from the florists to the make-up artists. From...
December! The month I was born. Also...one of the wettest months of the year. It just so happens that someone ate from the pot the night before because Phillip and Amy would fall victim to a day of downpour. However all was not lost, because this day the rain wasn't a negative point but a blessing on these two. An amazing day filled with bright eyes, big smiles, a ton of mud and lots of dancing!
My first time shooting at The Stone Cellar Wedding Venue. I am so glad I get to go back there again soon! Its a hidden gem with so much charisma and flair, yet so mellow and easy to admire....
Its not too often that you meet a couple like Kevin and Adele. The two, a bit further on in life than most of my couples, have a connection similar to a pair of lost puzzle pieces that finally found their way to each other. Their pursuit of happiness finally led them to each other. The way that Kevin speaks about Adele is inspiring. He has so much passion in his voice when speaking about her that you know this man realises what he has found. Adele is the same and is so comfortable and relaxed knowing that this lucky man is all hers.
The way you know how much they mean to each other...
Trips to Dullstroom are always a little more interesting than most destinations. Its a part of the country that you can't really compare to anywhere else. The weather can change 10 times in an hour or you can have cloud and mist for days on end. The rolling green hills and dirt roads seem like such an open invitation to escape the world but at the same time you can't help but want to be creative in it's surrounds. The Silver Sixpence is situated right in the heart of Dullstroom. A few bumpy dirt roads and mud patches later and you arrive at this amazing venue!
Threatened by rain literally...
Its funny how parents say they are never biased towards their kids. They say they love them all equally, but secretly you know there is always that one child they love the most. Well that's how I feel about Oxbow. It s one of my favourite venues to shoot at. Not just because their gardens are so beautiful and lush, or because their dam at sunset is one of the best views this side of Gauteng, or even because their menu and food prep is incredible and delicious. It's mostly because, they do things differently. They are unique in their charm and their abilities to host memorable...
I forgot how much I enjoy a smaller wedding. Your guest list is small enough to accommodate your closest friends and family, and not your aunty and uncle from another province who you probably haven't seen for the last two years. Your preparation is easier and usually stress levels are low. However the most important thing is how intimate it can be and still have all the excitement and encouragement a large event brings.
Juan and Jolene tied the knot at the quaint Simply Wed in Randburg. A sophisticated all in one venue. Well kept and well organised. The perfect setting for these two....
